Peter Winston, who organises the Flag Fortnight each year explains: “The Flag Festival is designed to bring a riot of colour to the streets of Ulverston and very much signals the start of the festival season. Like most of the events it relies heavily on the volunteers who erect and remove the flags, some of the businesses which purchase new flags with bespoke designs, and also the invaluable group of skilled ladies who sew the flags for us.”
The Flag Fortnight runs from 28th April to 12th May 2018
